Ready Set Flow-Episode 5

on Nov 25, 2016

Tonight Ready Set Flow hits Trinosophes where our host One Single Rose talks with one of Detroit’s premier slam poets Omari “King Wise” Barksdale gives us a lesson in Detroit poetry history. Since emerging as one of Detroit’s more preeminent performance artists in 2001, Omari has held the attention of audiences across the country including representing Detroit as a member of seven National Poetry Slam Teams (2008 Grand Slam Champion) and the 2007 Rust Belt Championship Slam Team. Later we head over to Manila Bay Café where we catch up with another slam poet Natasha T. Miller on the “Good Grief Tour” with Siarra Freeman. Natasha T. Miller was born and raised on the West Side of Detroit; an author, activist, and poet who is the ultimate reflection of where words meet action. Natasha T. Miller ‘is’ Detroit Poetry.
